Together with our Hong Kong-based consortium partners, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and Far East Consortium, our proposed future vision could see us inject more than $2 billion in additional tourism investment at The Star Gold Coast. The Star Entertainment Group is set to break ground on a 63-storey mixed use residential and hotel tower at its $2 billion masterplanned site at Broadbeach Island on the Gold Coast. The approved $400 million tower, to be built on the most south-eastern part of Broadbeach Island, will feature 210 five-star hotel rooms and 457 apartments. A five-star hotel, lagoon pools, a nightlife venue, plus additional restaurants and bars are key attractions of a proposed 215-metre tower to be positioned south of the Dorsett hotel and apartments development currently under construction. Works on the latest tower could commence in 2020 with pre-sales for apartments within the tower set to launch next month. The Star is playing a key role in the changing face of the Gold Coast. The Star Entertainment Group and its Hong Kong-based partners are great believers in the future of the Gold Coast and the significant tourism appeal of South East Queensland, both to domestic and international tourism. The Queensland government has put an end to negotiations for a global tourism hub and a second casino license on the Gold Coast. The city’s sole operator, The Star Entertainment Group, had been in exclusive talks with the state government for a monopoly deal, but state development minister Kate Jones on Saturday announced that government had finished its negotiations with The Star.
